A visit to Strand & Gordon’s Bay Harbour

Strand & Gordon’s Bay

GORDON'S BAY
Strand is a suburb of Somerset West and originally known as Somerset Strand. It gained independent municipal status in 1896 but the recorded history goes back at least three centuries.
GORDON'S BAY

Gordon’s Bay lies on the north eastern corner of False Bay. This holiday village is renowned for it’s fishing and boating facilities. It started as a fishing harbour in the early 18th century.
It’s current name originated in honour of Colonel Robert Gordon in 1778.
GORDON'S BAYThe South African Naval College is located in the harbour.

We spend the day walking around in the harbour, breathing in the fresh sea air and enjoying the locals hospitality.

Here are a few photos we would like to share….
