KALAHARIThe Kalahari is a very arid region within the borders of the Northern Cape. With a dramatic contrast of lush green vineyards in the Orange River Valleys and the red Kalahari sand dunes far north. 

When traveling through the Kalahari, one can experience a variety of attractions. The Mighty Orange River is most impressive at the Augrabies Falls. Here a 56m waterfall provides a breathtaking display. Augrabies Falls, is named from a Khoi word which means ‘place of great noise’ and is the world’s sixth largest waterfall.

Visit some of the largest conservation areas and view a wide range of mammal species in their natural habitat. The Kalahari is home to 7 of the 12 owl species, and 40 of the 67 raptor and vultures species found in South Africa.
