With the N12 straight ahead of us…the next stop was Hopetown. Here we got some refreshments and Bruno & Junior had a chance to stretch their legs. We followed the R369 to Orania – an Afrikaner “Volkstaat”.

We drove pass the museum and a radio station.  The shopping center provided the necessary amenities and the town has it’s own currency.

We were intrigued by the different building styles used – especially the straw bale technique. The community believe in living green and the recycling of waste.
